On November 7, 2023, Gary started attending a program called The Reverse Engineer being taught by Mastering.com. The audio engineering school, based out of London England, has a novel approach of teaching engineering by starting with the end in mind, i.e., mastering.
By approaching audio engineering through the lens of mastering, he learned the importance of proper acoustic treatment, sound pressure level measurements, stereo imaging, early reflections, impulse reflections, waterfall graphs, optimal listening position, how to deal with the “low end”, room modes, equalization, compression, saturation, distortion, peaks, transients, and most importantly, what a mastering engineer can and cannot perform.
Through trusting the process, his studio room boasts a commercial tolerance of +/- 3dB of boost and attenuation across the entire frequency spectrum of 20hz - 20khz with a decay time of less than 300 milliseconds. This means he'll be able to make precise, minute, adjustments to your mix to make your music competitive.
Since the completion of his room acoustics and measurements he has completed over 2,700 hours of critical listening along with mastering across several genres including Pop, HipHop, Country, Rock and Christian Contemporary.
Since March 2025, he's mastered a 13 track spoken word album by local New Orleans artist Romey Petite and songs “Turia” (July 2025) and “Earth Girl” (January 2026) by Adiron, a Pop artist from Ann Arbor Michigan. Gary and his team is currently working with Adiron to manage the mixing and mastering strategy of his upcoming EP due to be released over the summer of 2026. On August 21, 2025, Gary completed mastering the album “2005”, a 13 track HipHop album by Allay Earhart, HipHop artist from New Orleans Louisiana, in preparation for his upcoming concert, commemorating Hurricane Katrina, at the Filmore of New Orleans on August 29, 2025.
